Caryn Hubbs: Guiding Light in Education and Community
Caryn Hubbs was born on February 1, 1981, in Daytona Beach. Growing up with her older brother Joseph and younger siblings, Deanna and Christopher, Caryn learned the value of family bonds early on. As a proud mother of twin daughters, Dejá and Destiny, and a son named Carter, the family remains at the heart of her life.
Caryn's educational journey took her to Bethune Cookman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She furthered her academic pursuits at Webster University, obtaining a Master’s degree of Arts in Counseling. Her passion for understanding human behavior and helping others led her to her current role as a Certified School Counselor at Mainland High School, where she dedicates herself to guiding 12th-grade students toward academic success and future opportunities.
In recognition of her dedication and excellence, Caryn was nominated for Counselor of the Year 2021-2022 for Volusia County Schools. She is an active member of the Volusia County School Counselor Association, contributing to the advancement of counseling practices within the district.
I have always treated people they way I want them to treat me and that is something I have taught my children as well.
Beyond her professional commitments, Caryn finds joy in simple pleasures. She loves reading books and cherishing moments with her family, embodying her belief in the importance of nurturing personal relationships.
Caryn's guiding principles are rooted in treating others with kindness and respect, a philosophy she imparts to her children and upholds in both her personal and professional life. She draws strength from her faith, believing that challenges are temporary and that joy awaits those who persevere.
As a member of Allen Chapel AME Church and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Caryn actively engages in her community, embodying her commitment to service and connection. Despite her busy schedule, she finds solace in her love for Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, and Harry Potter, adding a touch of whimsy to her everyday life.
