Lynn Warren Thompson: A Creative Journey through Storytelling

Lynn Warren Thompson, a Florida-based writer, producer, and playwright, draws inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of his childhood hometown to weave captivating narratives that resonate deeply with audiences. His latest creation, "A Chance for Redemption," unfolds against the backdrop of a small business nestled in the heart of midtown Daytona Beach, Florida.

Set in 1977, the story delves into the enduring struggles faced by communities of color, illuminating issues that remain relevant and poignant today. Through the lens of a barber shop and the bustling streets of the neighborhood, Thompson skillfully guides audiences on an emotional roller coaster, from moments of amusement to fear and ultimately triumph.

Prior to his retirement in 2021, Thompson's indomitable spirit led him to remarkable achievements at Bethune-Cookman University, where he spearheaded the creation of the B-CU’s Cateye Network, showcasing the institution's multimedia assets. As Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, his tenure witnessed the rise of a championship program, garnering over 71 MEAC Championships and earning him a prestigious spot in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Hall of Fame in June 2023.

The whole world is a stage.

Thompson's creative prowess extends beyond the realm of athletics, as he leaves an indelible mark in the world of television. From hosting a weekly sports show featuring B-CU Athletics to producing historical video segments celebrating the legacy of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, his work has captivated audiences far and wide.

In collaboration with The Blk Originals, Thompson co-wrote and narrated "Kingfish: The Kenny Washington Story," a poignant documentary highlighting the journey of the first black football player to re-integrate the National Football League in 1946. His diverse portfolio also includes stage productions, children's musicals, and engaging podcasts, reflecting his unwavering commitment to storytelling across various mediums.

With each project, Lynn Warren Thompson invites audiences on a captivating journey, where the essence of human experience is illuminated through the power of narrative and the magic of storytelling.
