TURE

Rakaysha Hill, born on September 9, 2005, at Advent Health DeLand, FL, is a high school senior currently attending DeLand High School. Living with her parents, Rodney Hill Sr. and Precious Hill, Rakaysha is part of a lively household with four siblings: Rakayla, Rakail, Rodney Jr., and Terrick Williams.

Aside from her academic pursuits, Rakaysha is an active sports enthusiast. She passionately engages in basketball and flag football, representing her school in both sports. Her dedication to athletics has earned her awards, particularly in flag football. Alongside her athletic pursuits, Rakaysha has a keen interest in writing, finding solace in poetry and literature. Her favorite book, "The Poet X," attests to her love for literary expression.

Rakaysha is not only a student and athlete but also holds a three-year tenure at Joe Hearn Events, where she collaborates with her twin sister, Kayla. This opportunity, facilitated by a mentoring group, contributes to her professional journey.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4:13 is my favorite motto, which I learned when I was in private school.

Looking ahead, Rakaysha has ambitious career goals. After high school, she aspires to attend college with her sister, pursuing a veterinary degree and exploring real estate opportunities. Her involvement in the Sisters Build Network for Girls mentoring group reflects her commitment to community and empowerment.

Facing a tough time in high school, Rakaysha Hill encountered a big challenge when she found herself on Junior Varsity basketball as a Junior. It was tough for her because her heart was broken seeing her sister make it to the varsity team while she was starting on JV. Despite the initial disappointment, Rakaysha decided to work hard on Junior Varsity to show everyone how good she could play. Her determination paid off, and she eventually got the chance to play with the varsity team, even though she didn't get as much playing time as her sister. This experience taught her the importance of hard work and resilience in overcoming obstacles.

Beyond her busy schedule, Rakaysha is dedicated to community service. Every third Wednesday of the month, she volunteers at Banyon Cove, a senior citizen residence, distributing groceries with her church. These community efforts highlight her commitment to making a positive impact.

In the tapestry of Rakaysha Hill's life, one finds a blend of sportsmanship, academic pursuit, professional engagement, and a deep-rooted commitment to community service. As she approaches the threshold of her future, Rakaysha is poised to carve a path that reflects her multifaceted interests and unwavering values.
