TURE

Travis Roland, born on August 26, 1986, in Daytona Beach, Florida, is a man deeply rooted in family and community. He is the youngest of six children born to Rose and Thomas Roland, distinguished individuals in their own right. Rose, a retired Volusia County Schools Assistant Superintendent, and Thomas, a retired entrepreneur and current Commissioner for Daytona Beach Pop Warner, instilled values of education, hard work, and community service in Travis.

Travis is happily married to Deonce Roland, and they share the joy of parenthood with their two children, Bailee (8) and Paxton (5). As the head football coach at Mainland High School, Travis not only guides his team to success on the field but also emphasizes academic achievement and supports student-athletes in their college decisions.

A proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University with a degree in Accounting, Travis discovered his true passion lies in high school athletics. Whether cheering for his kids at Disney World or soaking in the pageantry of high school football and basketball, Travis finds joy in the simple moments of life.

Travis's coaching career reached a pinnacle in 2023 when he led Mainland High School to the FHSAA Class 3S State Championship. He was recognized as the Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year, solidifying his place in Florida high school football history.

Your environment matters. Pick the environment that is best for you not for the crowd or one that others may choose for you.

Actively involved in professional associations like FACA and the Florida Minority Coaches Association, Travis aspires to conclude his coaching journey at an HBCU institution. His life philosophy, encapsulated in the acronym F.A.M.I.L.Y. (Forget About Me, I Love You), reflects his commitment to selflessness and compassion.

Travis has faced challenges, losing teammates, and experiencing career setbacks, but he turned those obstacles into opportunities for personal growth. As a volunteer coach at Daytona Beach Pop Warner and South Daytona Parks and Recreation, he extends his passion for football to the younger generation, embodying the principle that your environment matters.

In his spare time, Travis enjoys playing Madden Football and FIFA soccer on his Xbox, highlighting his dedication to the sport beyond the field. A fun fact about Travis is that he started his teaching and coaching career at Seabreeze High School, Mainland High School's rival, adding an unexpected twist to his coaching journey.

Travis Roland's story is one of resilience, commitment to family and community, and an unwavering passion for the game that has defined his life. His message is simple but profound: choose the environment that is best for you, not for the crowd, or one that others may choose for you.
