TURE

Born on October 16, 2001, in Al Barad, Egypt, Amou Ring's story is one of resilience and ambition. With a family of eight siblings—five sisters and three brothers—her journey has always been enriched by the bonds of family and the values instilled by her upbringing. Moving to Australia and then to the United States, Amou's life has been a combination of cultural experiences and personal growth.

Graduating from West Oaks Academy in Orlando, FL, Amou now attends Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Global Conflict Studies, she balances her academic pursuits with her role as a student-athlete, exemplifying dedication both on and off the court. As a proud member of the Embry-Riddle Women's Basketball team, Amou's achievements include being a 2022 Athletics Philanthropy Council Recipient, earning the Embry-Riddle Women’s Basketball Scholarship, making the Sunshine State Commission Honor Roll from 2021 to 2023, and being honored as a Woman of Excellence in 2022-23.

As a student-athlete, discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and dedication are likely key values for me.

Amou's aspirations reach beyond her immediate accomplishments. With a goal to thrive in business and sales, she also dreams of using her success to uplift others. Guided by her faith in God, she lives by the principle of Matthew 7:12: "Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets."

Transitioning from Australia to the United States at seventeen, Amou faced the challenges of adapting to new cultures and environments. Through maturity, growth, and constant learning, she navigated these changes, turning obstacles into opportunities for personal development.

Beyond her academic and athletic commitments, Amou gives back to her community. She volunteers at the Halifax Humane Society, helping care for animals, and participates in athlete events at Embry-Riddle, demonstrating her commitment to service and leadership.

A lover of reading, outdoor activities, and trying new things, Amou's vibrant personality shines through in all she does. Her journey is not just about personal success but about inspiring and empowering other Black women to be seen, heard, and appreciated.
