Hadassah Collier’s life is nothing short of extraordinary. Born on October 12, 1980, in Oklahoma, she was adopted at birth during a time when racism was rampant, and the world felt uncertain for a child of color. Raised by Carol and Robert Collier, Hadassah's early years were filled with love, art, and faith. Though her adoption was a well-guarded secret for most of her childhood, she always suspected her roots were elsewhere. At the age of 17, following the death of her mother, she learned the truth — she was adopted. This revelation was the beginning of a journey that would lead her to discover not only her biological family but also her deep connection to her culture, and her unique path to purpose.
Despite the uncertainties of her early life, Hadassah grew up surrounded by the love and nurturing of her adoptive family. Her mother, an educator, poured herself into her daughter’s education, fostering a deep appreciation for knowledge and the arts. Hadassah was a child of many talents, playing the harp, dancing, acting, and singing in the choir. She attended performing arts schools in Atlanta, Georgia, where her passion for dance flourished. Her mother, who passed away when Hadassah was just 17, instilled in her the importance of unconditional love and faith. This foundation would carry Hadassah through life’s toughest challenges.
Her life’s journey was further shaped by her academic pursuits. She studied dance at Brenau University before obtaining a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Social Science from Ashford University. The next chapter in her educational story led her to a Master’s in Education, a field that would help her continue to influence the lives of others. Throughout her studies, Hadassah remained grounded in her faith and love for people, a commitment that translated into her career.
Today, Hadassah is a Brand Manager at Oceans Luxury Realty, where she oversees marketing, branding, and company events. But her career is not just about building a company; it’s about building a community. Through her role, she has become a beacon of light in Daytona Beach, where she hosts free community events, volunteers for Basket Brigade and Toys for Tots, and works closely with organizations like Sophie’s Circle and Halifax Urban Ministries. Her life’s work is dedicated to giving back and uplifting others, whether through her career or her volunteer efforts.
Her journey, however, has not been without obstacles. One of the greatest challenges Hadassah faced was the search for her biological roots. Through a DNA test in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, she found her birth mother. That was the beginning of an incredible story of discovery that eventually led her to her father and a whole new family. The sense of completion and belonging she felt after these revelations was a gift that changed her life. Finally, she understood her origin story, filling the empty spaces that had lingered for decades.
My motto is, It is What it Is!
Hadassah’s life is marked by resilience. She has weathered heartbreak, including the loss of her mother and the struggles that came with growing up in a mixed-race family during a turbulent time in America. She has faced criticism for grieving her mother’s death and for not allowing life’s hardships to become excuses. Yet, she has emerged stronger, embracing each challenge as a stepping stone toward becoming the woman she is today — a compassionate, driven, and purposeful individual. She does not just survive; she thrives, pushing forward even when it seems impossible.
She has faced societal judgments, but rather than allowing them to define her, Hadassah has used them to fuel her passion for helping others. Her personal motto, "It is what it is," has been a guiding principle, teaching her to accept life’s challenges and move forward with grace and strength. The phrase, "Those that mind don’t matter, and those that matter don’t mind," echoes her approach to life — stay true to yourself, and the right people will support you along the way.
As a mother to three children — Gabrielle, 23, Nicholas, 21, and Vision, 7 — Hadassah is committed to raising them with the same values that shaped her. Family is everything to her, and though she considers herself an outgoing introvert, she cherishes quiet time at home with her loved ones. She has instilled in her children the importance of empathy, kindness, and resilience. She wants them to know the world is full of challenges, but with love, faith, and determination, anything is possible.
Her ultimate dream is to build a nonprofit that will bridge the gap between government assistance and the everyday struggles many face. Hadassah envisions a world where the most vulnerable are supported long after public programs have done their part. It’s this drive to make a lasting impact that motivates her daily — whether she’s managing a brand, organizing community events, or simply being there for her family.
At the core of everything Hadassah does is her faith in God. It is through this faith that she finds strength and purpose, and it’s her belief that she is here to be a blessing to others. She remains steadfast in her goal to leave a legacy, to use her platform to inspire and help others. Hadassah’s life story is one of transformation — from a child abandoned at birth to a woman who has found her roots and purpose. It is a story of resilience, faith, love, and unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around her.
In the end, Hadassah Collier's life is a testament to the power of love, the importance of knowing where you come from, and the boundless potential we all have to impact the world for the better. It’s a story that proves that while we may not always know where we are headed, with faith, determination, and the right people by our side, we can write our own path and leave a lasting legacy.
