Cultuvue is excited to announce the open call for its 5th annual photography exhibition, presented in collaboration with the Southeast Museum of Photography. Cultuvue invites you to submit your artwork for the upcoming exhibition: "We Are Art".
We Are Art represents more than just a simple slogan; it embodies the values, traditions, and stories that shape the very soul of the Black experience. For this exhibition, we seek artwork that captures the essence of the Black experience - its traditions, its people, its history, and its future.
PRIZES:
Best in Show receives $250 in cash
Runner up receives $125
Honorable Mention receives $50
All accepted pieces will be displayed in the We Are Art gallery collection

ABOUT CULTUVUE
Cultuvue, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, celebrates Black culture through photography exhibitions. Over the past four years, Cultuvue by Kenneth Grant Inspirations has showcased over 350 portraits and art pieces, blending photos, interactive displays, and education. Our exhibitions aim to challenge negative stereotypes of Blacks in America, offering positive images and stories to encourage understanding and promote visual literacy among different communities—all for free.
ABOUT THE SOUTHEAST MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHY
The Southeast Museum of Photography exhibits, collects, preserves, and interprets photography to facilitate teaching and learning at Daytona State College and enhance the community’s understanding and appreciation of culture, history, and photography.

ELIGIBILITY
Open to all local high school and college artists in the Central Florida Area. The competition is open for the following 2D categories: Photography, painting, drawing, graphic arts, and mixed media.

COMMISSIONS & FEES
We encourage artwork sales. For the Cultuvue exhibit, the artist receives a 70% commission, while Cultuvue retains a 30% commission. Commissions on sales will help support Cultuvue's programming.
SALES & COPYRIGHTS
Your entry grants Cultuvue and SMP permission to use artist statements, artist biographies, and image(s) of your work in catalogs, websites, and any marketing or public relations materials. Cultuvue will provide image credit with the information you provide on your application.
SUBMISSION FEE
$15 entry fee, includes 3 submissions.
FILE FORMAT: JPEG (“Quality” set to Maximum). All submissions must include at least one JPEG.
File Name: First Name_Last Name_Image # (e.g.: Albrecht_Durer_1.jpg.)
Submit images attached to an email to info@cultuvue.org along with the artist's full name, name of school and best contact number.
CATALOG: Once selected, artists must submit hi-res images of their work along with an artist statement.
Once accepted all work must be presented professionally as a cohesive group show.
For any special installation requirements, the artist must provide visual and detailed instructions included in the packaging or via email. We strongly encourage artists to contact info@cultuvue.org to discuss special installations before dropping them off.
To ensure the quality of the exhibition, Cultuvue reserves the right to exclude any entry that presents complex hanging/exhibition problems or is not professionally framed.
Cultuvue may also reject any work that is not accurately represented in the digital file. The decision is final.
NOTIFICATIONS
Email notifications will be sent to all artists by November 22, 2024. An artist statement and a high-resolution jpeg of selected work will be required and requested once accepted for catalog and promotional media use.

Eligibility Criteria
ELIGIBILITY is open to local high school and college artists in the Central Florida Area. The competition is open for the following 2D categories: Photography, painting, drawing, graphic arts, and mixed media. All photographic mediums and applications are accepted and welcomed for consideration except AI. Artists may enter multiple images/detail images. All work must be original, unsold work, and the artist must own the sole copyright to the art.
