Stephanie Ellis-Clark’s story begins on February 24, 1970, in the quiet coastal town of Portsmouth, Virginia. But her roots grew deep in the sunshine-drenched streets of Leesburg, Florida. Raised by Gene and Joyce Ellis, Stephanie grew up in a household defined by love, resilience, and community. Her father, a revered youth football coach, taught her the power of leadership and dedication, while her mother instilled in her an unshakeable belief that she was destined for greatness. Though modest in stature, Stephanie’s presence was commanding—a reflection of the unyielding faith her parents had in her potential.

The Ellis household thrived on togetherness, with football games and cheering crowds forming the backdrop of Stephanie’s fondest memories. Her father was a hero to many in the community, but at home, it was her mother’s quiet strength that became Stephanie’s anchor. That strength was tested when Joyce passed away in 1986, leaving the family to navigate life without her guiding hand. Stephanie, barely a teenager, stepped into a leadership role among her siblings, proving that even amidst profound loss, the seeds of resilience can bloom.

Stephanie graduated from Leesburg High School in 1988 and pursued her education at Florida A&M University, earning a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Social Work. Her academic journey didn’t stop there; she later attained a Master of Public Administration from Troy University. Armed with knowledge and a deep sense of purpose, Stephanie embarked on a career in early intervention services, where her passion for helping children reach their potential became her life’s work.

The road wasn’t without its challenges. In the mid-90s, as a single mother to her daughter Ashley, Stephanie balanced the demands of parenting and building a career. But her determination never wavered. Over the years, she rose through the ranks, eventually becoming Vice President of Early Intervention Services at Easterseals Northeast Central Florida. Her work has transformed lives, from watching children take their first steps to creating community partnerships that amplify the impact of early intervention programs.

Stephanie’s personal life is a testament to love and perseverance. In 2018, she married Terry Clark, an entrepreneur who shares her commitment to family and community. Together, they’ve built a life that reflects the values Stephanie holds dear—faith, love, and a commitment to uplifting others. Her daughter Ashley, now a school psychologist, embodies the legacy of resilience and excellence that Stephanie has worked tirelessly to cultivate.

My personal philosophy or motto comes from a statement that reads "Family First, A Foundation of Love, Support, and Growth".

Beyond her professional achievements, Stephanie’s influence extends into her community. As President of the Leesburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she spearheads initiatives that support education, health, and civic engagement. Whether organizing scholarships for high school seniors or rallying support for cancer research, Stephanie’s dedication to service is unwavering.

Her guiding philosophy, “Family First, A Foundation of Love, Support, and Growth,” is more than a motto—it’s a way of life. For Stephanie, success isn’t measured solely by accolades or titles but by the strength of the relationships she nurtures. Her family is her cornerstone, and their collective achievements are a reflection of the values instilled by Gene and Joyce Ellis.

Stephanie’s journey is marked by lessons learned through challenges. When faced with adversity early in her career, she discovered the power of faith and perseverance. “What is for me, is for me,” she often says, a testament to her belief in divine timing and the importance of staying true to oneself.

In her downtime, Stephanie indulges in her love for shopping, traveling, and novels that transport her to far-off worlds. And if you ever find yourself in the passenger seat of her car, prepare for a ride—her self-proclaimed racecar driver instincts are legendary among family and friends.

As Stephanie Ellis-Clark looks to the future, her aspirations remain rooted in her passion for early intervention and her desire to educate the next generation of professionals. Her story is one of triumph, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to leaving the world better than she found it—a legacy that promises to inspire for generations to come.
