From Brokenness to Purpose: Tyler Joy Grant

TURE

Tyler Joy Grant’s life is a testimony to the power of perseverance, grace, and vision. Born on April 4, 1997, in the sunny coastal city of Boca Raton, Florida, Tyler’s story begins in the heart of a bustling community. Raised in a family deeply rooted in faith, with her grandparents Eddie and Yvonne Odom, and Tylus and Yvonne Grant, Tyler’s early years were filled with a blend of love, devotion, and spiritual grounding. Alongside her twin sister, Troi Ashlee Grant, Tyler navigated the complexities of life with an innate sense of leadership and a desire to uplift those around her.

As a child growing up in Margate, Florida, Tyler’s life was intricately woven into the fabric of church life at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Boynton Beach, where she thrived in the Dance Ministry, Theatre Ministry, Youth Choir, and Technology Ministry. Whether leading as captain or serving on the e-board of various clubs, Tyler consistently sought out opportunities to serve and to create spaces for others to shine. It was during these formative years, between the ages of six and twelve, that Tyler discovered the power of connection and community, and began honing the skills that would define her future.

Her academic and extracurricular excellence during her time at Atlantic High School in Delray Beach set the stage for her next chapter. As a scholar and a standout in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, Tyler’s ambition was not confined to the classroom. She was a bridge-builder, connecting diverse groups through leadership roles in student organizations, and always working to ensure that every voice was heard. The values instilled in her through church, community, and academia became the foundation for the woman she was destined to become.

Though her path was not without challenges, including a difficult transition from the Broward County School System to Palm Beach County, Tyler's resilience remained unshaken. The support of her mother, Joi, who worked in the Palm Beach County Public School System, ensured that the transition was smooth, but Tyler’s ability to navigate obstacles was something that she would rely on for years to come. The childhood experiences that grounded her faith and work ethic would later serve as the bedrock of her entrepreneurial journey.

Tyler’s academic journey continued at Bethune-Cookman University, where she studied Mass Communications, Business Administration, and Interdisciplinary Studies, though her degree remained incomplete. However, the challenges of school and the tug of her entrepreneurial spirit led Tyler to pursue ventures beyond the traditional educational route. It was here that she cultivated the creative genius that would later propel her into the world of business and ministry.
