Exposition Through Exhibition

Cultuvue, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to celebrating the rich tapestry of black culture through captivating photography exhibitions. With a commitment to artistic and creative expression, each of our exhibitions combines photographic, interactive, and educational elements. Over the past three years, Cultuvue by Kenneth Grant lnzpirations has successfully curated and presented an impressive collection of over 200 portraits and art pieces.

Our exhibitions aim to transform the way we perceive African Americans, countering the negative cultural stereotypes prevalent in mainstream media and society. By showcasing these positive images and their accompanying narratives, we provide an insightful and free-of-charge curated exhibition experience. Our goal is to promote visual literacy, fostering communication and understanding among diverse ethnic groups.

MISSION

Cultuvue is dedicated to showcasing the richness of Black culture through the captivating medium of portraiture photography, with a particular focus on celebrating and empowering the younger generation. Our mission is to illuminate the vibrancy, diversity, and resilience of Black heritage while inspiring and uniting communities worldwide.

In retrospect, it's truly astonishing to witness the growing popularity of a beloved community hub in the spirited Daytona Beach area, where the richness of our surroundings is celebrated, and moments of profound inspiration are generously shared with those who gather. This remarkable growth is further exemplified by the expansion in scale and changing venues of each annual exhibition.

A PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

LIKE NONE OTHER

Our target audience is two-fold. On one hand, we seek to encourage and uplift communities of color, specifically elementary, middle, and high school students between the ages of 10 and 16 years of age. On the other, we seek to inform and educate all other ethnicities. We would also like to reach those who misunderstand our intent, which has never been political. With so few positive representations of people of color, this benefits all citizens by providing an environment that fosters cultural understanding and awareness.

HOW IT
ALL GOT
STARTED

Here's how a Google search led to the start of an annual photography exhibition and nonprofit organization.

THE CURATORS AND THEIR WHY

Hear from the founders and curators, James and LaToya Carey, about why they have a passion for executing Cultuvue.

INSPIRING THE NEXT GENERATION

The impact on the youth is important to the success of our exhibit. We seek to inspire the youth to dare to dream and become more than what they originally set out to be or do. We do this through curated exhibition tours, activities, and our Cultuvue Youth Day.

CULTUVUE

IN THE

MEDIA

Wanting to raise awareness of the cultural importance and relevance of Cultuvue, we wanted to get the local media and publications involved to help spread the word. Partners, such as WESH 2 News, assisted in doing just that.
